Microsoft NuAds with Kinect Makes ‘Minority Report’ One Step Closer to Reality (Video)

Microsoft has unveiled today their strategy for using their Kinect technology in order to create a more engaging advertising experience that will benefit both consumers and sellers.   Basically, it will provide for increased user interactivity going into the future with these ads which will make them less spam-like in nature.

What I found so interesting about this though is that this sets up the foundation for a Minority Report-like experience as the technology improves.  This is the ‘how’ so to speak.  I guess Spielberg was right although the jury is still out on jet packs.  Check below the Microsoft video for the clip from Minority Report if you have no idea what the hell I am talking about.

The following video though is really quite lame, but somewhat informative in nature.  It provides examples of very simplistic interactivity with commercials through hand gestures and voice commands.  Judging from the demonstration, at the current level of technology, NuAds may only work well with television and movie content.  No one will spam their friend’s inbox with coke commercials I’m sorry to say.
