The summer of 2013 for Marvel is shaping to be another big one. Their movie studio arm has set a release window today for Thor 2 and already has a May 3, 2013 release date set for Iron Man 3.
Kenneth Branagh will not be returning to helm the sequel (although he will stay on in some capacity); however, Chris Hemsworth will indeed reprise his role as Thor. That part was never really in question as Marvel was wise to option the actor up before the first film even began shooting.
To date, Thor has grossed $437 million world wide ($177 million of that is domestic) on a budget of $150 million.
Update 6/30: Disney has set a date for Thor 2 of July 26, 2013.
