Facebook Copies Key Google Plus Features

While it is well known that Google Plus is copying Facebook in several respects, the tables have now turned as is hard at work on efforts to copy what users love from .

Facebook is deeply afraid of Google’s social network.  Why? Because they actually listened to the community whereas Facebook only makes a shift when their empire is threatened.  Sounds ridiculous though if you think about.   Facebook has always made key privacy changes when requested, so to say that they do not listen seems absurd.   However, there is a difference between ‘I’m not going to use you if you don’t do this’-listening and ‘I’m going to just be angry and mumble to myself if you don’t do this’-listening.

Google Plus listened to the latter as well and as a result developed a whole host of features that Facebook fans have been wanting for a long time.  Add in Plus’ simplistic design, and you have a genuine Facebook rival.

Now that Facebook sees that they cannot just simply sit on their hands anymore, the social networking company is working on replicating Google Plus’ ideas.   One specific idea sited today was the now added ability to share things with specific people.  That was a huge reason why people loved Google Plus, and now Facebook will have that, too.

There is a whole lot more to the mimicry than that which you can read about on Facebook’s blog.   While the changes look nice, it might not be enough to thwart their new rival as Facebook’s interface reeks of old age compared to the freshness and simplicity of Google Plus.
