This was most unexpected as a whole lot of people were anticipated yet another bad Planet of the Apes movie. This film has been flying a little bit under the radar, but perhaps with these good reviews, the movie will get a some more swagger and might be able to put a sizable dent at the box office.
The Good: Reviewers are saying that Rise of the Planet of the Apes is a well made film on most levels. They love the visual effects and action in the film and rave about Andy Serkis specifically. Critics are also applauding that the film is not confined to the original film, but pay homage to it.
The Bad: Critics say the film is absolutely boring as the characters are uninteresting. To quote one reviewer, ‘A story that only gets moving when it’s about to wrap up.’ Another critic says that the film boarders on ridiculousness. That sums up the sentiment across the board for the handful of negative reviewers.
