Early today, Lifetime officially renewed its freshman unscripted series, Dance Moms. The show has been doing alright in viewership, netting 1.6 million viewers per episode. That is relatively good for the cable network’s standards as they have given the show another 13 episodes.
Dance Moms’ ratings has actually been on the upswing since its premiere which made this decision a no-brainer for Lifetime. That makes the timing for the show’s renewal purely strategic as the season finale is set for Wednesday, October 5 and should get a little bump from the free press.
