Reviewers Think ‘Footloose’ Reboot Is Inferior to the Original

The reviews for the Footloose reboot are pretty good, but there is a big deviation between top critics and fringe reviewers as the former believes that the film is average while the latter feel the movie is actually quite good.

The Good:  Footloose is being called fresh and an example of how studios should remake movies that do not need rebooting in the first place.  Even though the movie is 113-minutes long, some believe the movie goes by fast thanks to the music and upbeat tempo.

The Bad:  People are hating on the fact that the movie is no where near as good as the original.  They seem to have blinders on because of this, and are saying the film sucks because it is not an iconic ‘generation definer.’

A few critics are also throwing out terms like ‘hammy’ and phrases like ‘basic cable movie’ to describe the film overall.  These reviewers also despise the absurdity of the premise and accuse the film of being dated in an ironic twist.

Rotten Tomatoes: 73% Fresh
