This is somewhat a big news story. George Lucas has gone on the record with his retirement from blockbuster filmmaking. The story comes from the New York Times that Lucas is fed up with the outrage he creates whenever he goes back to old properties, and as a result, he completely lost his interest in franchise extensions.
While this does not mean the filmmaker is done with the business, it does certainly imply that there will be no more Star Wars films with the creator at the helm. Even though one could argue that also means no more Indiana Jones features, Lucas was careful not to rule out a fifth installment in the franchise.
George Lucas made the comments when promoting his newest effort, Red Tails.
