Dennis Quaid looks to have finally found a small screen series that he has been looking for, and it is a whopper of a project. According to Vulture, the Footloose actor is currently in negotiations to co-star alongside Michael Chiklis in a CBS pilot called Ralph Lamb. The series is about the true story of 1960′s Las Vegas sheriff (Quaid) and his gangster nemesis (Chiklis).
What’s more is that there is a high profile behind-the-scenes tandem working on this prospective drama. Nicholas Pileggi is the series creator. This is the guy who wrote Good Fellas and Casino. Also, the director for the pilot episode is pretty decent as well. James Mangold who is best known for directing Walk the Line and Cop Land has been tapped for the job. He most recently directed an episode of the soon-to-air CBS drama NYC 22.
A whole lot of eyes will be pegged to this project going forward, so stay tuned for more on Ralph Lamb in the months to come.
