At long last, the first full-on trailer for The Bourne Legacy has arrived. For those of you unfamiliar with the film, it is a continuation of the events following The Bourne Ultimatum and not a reboot although Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne lacks an on-screen presence. The lead this time around went to Avengers actor Jeremy Renner who hit the big time with 2010′s Best Picture, The Hurt Locker. He has since done a variety of high profile films including Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and The Town.
Also starring in Bourne Legacy will be Rachel Weisz who happens to be married to James Bond’s Daniel Craig. Seeing how both films have been frequently compared over the years despite their major difference, this should give the press a lot to talk about come the second half of the year where both franchises are set to release new installments.
Michael Clayton director Tony Gilroy gets behind-the-camera duty this time around. Look for The Bourne Legacy to hit theaters on August 3.
