The last time Showtime’s Dexter was on the air, it left viewers with a monster cliffhanger having Dexter Morgan’s sister finding out who her adopted brother truly is with no apparent way out. That said, we could not be more pumped for the seventh season of the critically acclaimed drama despite what some of us felt was a sub-par sixth year out.
The official teaser trailer hit the net this morning which provides us with zero insight as to what the heck is actually going on, but it does display the apparent tone that the series’ fall 2012 run looks to take. Michael C. Hall’s Dexter has some dialogue in the spot that could provide a clue as to what that will be.
“Maybe everything is exactly as it should be.” [Someone, probably not Debrah, gets sliced.] “Oh, God.”
Might this indicate that Dexter’s search for answers in regards to his family life, religion, etc. be finally coming to an end as a wave of acceptance sweeps over the serial killer? Perhaps the woman getting killed is Jennifer Carpenter’s Debrah after all considering there are presumably only two seasons left until the show wraps for good. Any case, that would not likely spell the end for her character as Dexter tends to speak to the dead for some words of wisdom on occasion.
In case you missed it at the end, the show will return to air with its seventh season premiere on Sunday, September 30.
