A few months, word broke of a potential sequel to the 1988 film Twins which starred Danny DeVito alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger as unlikely brothers. The original film made a ton of money at the box office, so the question was what took so long. Apparently, it was the governorship of California. Before Schwarzenegger decided to run for the political position, DeVito actually tried to talk him out of it with this idea which we previously did not know. The Governator obviously passed on the sequel opportunity at that time in favor of achieving his political goals.
Danny DeVito was on The Graham Norton show recently where he pretty much dropped that news, but he also sounded like it would not happen without Eddie Murphy who has been offered a leading role in the second effort entitled Triplets. The ball looks to be in the SNL-alum’s court, so expect the press to hound the comedian with questions about this next time he has a new movie to promote.
