It has been quite the year for Chris Hemsworth, but the actor is not done yet as the actor is apparently attached to another big project that is based on the tale of Moby Dick. The movie being shopped around is called In the Heart of the Sea, and it comes from producer Joe Roth who previously worked with Hemsworth on Snow White and the Huntsman.
In addition to re-teaming the blockbuster caliber actor with the producer, it also poses to be the fifth major effort with Hemsworth at the center that comes from unoriginal source material. This time around, the plot is coming from the book In the Heart of the Sea by Nathaniel Philbrick. The novel is described as a fact-based story about a whaling vessel that was stalked and subsequently destroyed by a sperm whale in 1820. Of the ship’s crew, only nine survived.
Just a heads up though, this is not the only Hemsworth-lead effort coming down the pipeline outside of the sequels to Thor, Avengers, and Snow White. The actor is set to star in both the Red Dawn remake and Ron Howard’s Rush. Red Dawn is the directorial debut of Dan Bradley who is a long-time stunt coordinator in the industry while the latter is about a formula one racing rivalry from the 1970′s. Look for Red Dawn to be the first one out in November 2012 with Rush coming in 2013.
