Anna Kendrick is flat out awesome, and that is why we suddenly care about this new musical comedy called Pitch Perfect which almost reeks of Bring It On. Maybe such a comparison is unfair though because this is Jason Moore’s directorial debut on the feature side and he has a list of television credentials that includes Brothers and Sisters. That is not even mentioning that the screenplay comes from Kay Cannon who spent her career thus far giving lines on Liz Lemon on NBC’s 30 Rock. Perhaps Tina Fey rubbed off on her and audiences will get something more along the lines of Mean Girls which was a pretty decent movie in its day.
The rest of the cast consists of Rebel Wilson, Alexis Knapp, Brittany Snow, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Anna Camp among others. Look for Pitch Perfect to hit theaters on October 5.
