With Breaking Bad set to return on Sunday, Comic-Con is AMC’s last chance to promote the beginning of the meth-based series’ fifth season. Having said that, it is not exactly a shocker that the basic cable channel held a panel in support of the program which of course provided us with a new trailer as well as a fresh round of spoilers for the weeks ahead.
According to attendees of the panel, Vince Gilligan revealed a few interesting details about the upcoming season while reiterating what we already know. Yes, the show is going to get crazier and even darker (if that were even possible) with Walter White (Bryan Cranston) starting to cook again as ‘the new meth kingpin,’ but what do not know how he could possible assemble a new super lab.
That said, the second episode of the season will see the show visiting Germany which may be for equipment purposes; however, this remains unverified at this time. What we do know is that some of Gus Fring’s equipment was ordered from Europe thus why this appears to be the logical step in the story. Furthermore, the award-winning drama’s creator also teased that Walter White would do something to remove all remaining sympathy viewers have for his character.
That is it in terms of new information via the panel. While it may not seem like much, those familiar with the show’s pace probably realize this is quite a bit. On that note, here is the trailer that also premiered at Comic-Con which includes both new and old footage. It is front-loaded with a never before seen clip of Mike (Jonathan Banks) having a show down with Walter White and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul,) so that makes it worth the view in itself.
