Ben Stiller Talks Childhood Super 8 Films on ‘Leno’

Ben Stiller is back in movie-marketing mode this week as he used Friday night to promote his new comedy The Watch.  This is the actor’s live-action follow-up to Tower Heist which did merely ‘okay’ at theaters, so perhaps the re-teaming with his Dodgeball co-star Vince Vaughn goes a bit better.  Also in the film is Jonah Hill who is coming off of 21 Jump Street which is leading some to believe that if the quality is there, this R-rated feature might turn out be a bigger hit than initially projected.

Last night’s interview was pretty fruitful as we now know that Ben Stiller had a knack for directing at a very young age.  His initial films included a horrible retread of Edgar Allen Poe’s The Tell Tale-Heart and a mugger revenge story.  Of course, none of these made it to the big screen, but perhaps someone in Hollywood might be interested in the former given how successful low budget horror films tend to be.

The Watch releases into theaters nationwide on July 27.
