Charlie Sheen’s new FX series is in some bad need of some press, so the actor took to The Tonight Show last night to help get the word out. Apparently, Anger Management is well off its series highs and while it remains the network’s Thursday night leader, nobody knows for sure how many more viewers will be lost in the weeks ahead. It is completely conceivable that the show could end up performing worse than Wilfred or even Louie, but that is for another day.
Today we focus on Charlie’s most recent talk show interview where he addressed the rumors that he may become an American Idol judge. Much to our amusement, the actor never even heard from the reality series’ producers in the first place making this purely a piece of tabloid fiction. He reportedly thought it was wise to send out his terms to the press anyways just in case the folks at Fox wanted to buy in, but ultimately it sounds like a horrible idea so this should put those rumors to bed.
Also brought up was Sheen’s recent donation of $1 million to the USO. It sounds like it is a publicity stunt to drum up buzz for his sitcom; however, it is a good cause so not a whole lot of people care. The terms of the donation are tied to the success of his new show as he has pledged 1% of his salary (or $1 million minimum) to the organization.
