Another potential starring vehicle for Vince Vaughn is in the news today. Reports are surfacing that the actor’s production company has acquired Ridley Pearson’s novel The Risk Agent. The intent is to develop this project for Universal to distribute.
The Risk Agent is already being called something of a departure for the actor as it is a thriller and not a comedy by any means. In the feature, Vaughn will presumably play John Knox, an expert in both combat and culture who is tasked with recovering the missing businessman. The book pairs his character up with a female forensic accountant named Grace Chu who is yet to be cast.
Vaughn can next be seen in The Watch alongside Ben Stiller and Jonah Hill as the R-rated comedy hits theaters nationwide later this week. Beyond that he stars in a few more upcoming projects including the currently filming Owen Wilson reunion The Internship which is due out next year.
