Audiences received their first real glimpse of Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina today via a six-minute clip. Big things are expected from this Tolstoy-based project set against the backdrop of period Russia as it marks the third collaboration between the director and Keira Knightley. The previous two were Atonement and Pride of Prejudice suggesting a high degree of quality when these two forces meet.
For those unfamiliar with the plot, it has Anna Karenina (Knightley) entering into a life-changing affair with Aaron Johnson’s Count Vronsky. The story is said to explore ‘capacity for love that surges through the human heart.’
Cast members include Keira Knightley, Jude Law, and Aaron Johnson. The release date is set for November 9.
