Jessica Biel went on The Daily Show last night to wrap up promotion for Total Recall ahead of the film’s release. The actress chatted with Jon Stewart about the film’s hover cars at length and also addressed her unemployed status. This is a bit discerning because we heard the actress was set to sign on for The Wolverine as Viper before turning around and walking out due to a scheduling problem.
The automatic conclusion on that is she really did not think the project or role was any good which undoubtedly created a lot of angst among fans of the X-Men spin-off. Some light was shed on that just yesterday though when it was announced she had been one of the finalists to become the female lead in the Jack Ryan reboot, but she has already been cut as the decision now resides with three remaining candidates. Perhaps what happened here is that The Wolverine was not as juicy as a chance to sign a three-picture deal under director Kenneth Branagh and unfortunately she gambled wrong.
