America is about to sit through yet another baseball movie this fall. No, it is not a sequel to Moneyball, but it does star Clint Eastwood who is taking a backseat for once from the director’s chair (the first time since 1993′s In the Line of Fire actually) as Robert Lorenz has behind-the-camera duty for this picture. The movie centers around Eastwood’s character who is a baseball scout that takes his daughter on one last recruiting trip.
The trailer seems to showcase a Gran Torino-like vibe from its star, yet it is toned down enough for us to not call it ‘the same character.’ Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake add a romantic element to the mix that does not look like it fits the story they are trying to tell, but then again I just saw In Time again on HBO the other night and right now anything with Timberlake looks incredibly awkward to me. We will see how it turns out in a month and a half.
Stars of the film include Clint Eastwood, John Goodman, Amy Adams, and Justin Timberlake. Trouble with the Curve releases into theaters on September 21.
