It looks like Saturday Night Live will to get off to one heck of a start this year with three hot names in feature films hosting the first few episodes of the year. Things kick off on September 15th when Family Guy creator and director of the hit film Ted will front the show. His followers will be Joseph Gordon-Levitt who will be promoting his sci-fi flick Looper and Daniel Craig who will be putting in a very early appearance for James Bond: Skyfall which is due out in November.
The run-ups to presidential elections are often huge for the sketch series ratings wise, so expect some A-list appearances in addition to this hosting roster that Lorne Michaels has assembled. Here is to hoping that Dwayne Johnson will find the time in his busy schedule to recur as ‘The Rock’ Obama. Hit the jump for the full press release.
New York, NY – August 29, 2012 – SNL enters its 38th season on September 15 with host Seth MacFarlane. The Emmy Award-winning comedian and “Family Guy” creator recently directed and lent his voice to the blockbuster feature film, “Ted,” starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis.
Frank Ocean will also make his SNL debut alongside MacFarlane. Ocean released his studio debut album “Channel Orange,” in July 2012 to widespread critical acclaim. He originally gained notoriety within the industry for his writing collaborations with top artists like Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Beyonce.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt returns on September 22 for his second time as host. The Golden Globe nominated actor will next be seen in “Looper” and Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln,” due out later this year.
