Enough with the constant teasers! Today, we finally received a legit full-on trailer for the seventh season of Dexter. The season will aim to setup an eighth and final season so expect a lot of groundwork to be laid down in addition to the standard story arc culminating in the title character murdering someone important.
Even though we already witnessed two minutes of the season premiere (the highlights of which are screened in this trailer,) there is still plenty left on the table to excite fans about the cliffhanger from the end of last year’s run. There will be moments when Dexter contemplates killing his sister and we also see that she will have a great amount of difficulty dealing with what has come to light. Perhaps this is setting up the best Jennifer Carpenter performance yet and a few high-profile award nominations could be in her future.
Guesting this season will be Yvonne Strahovski who will be playing a former half of a serial-killing duo who is now helping Miami Metro solve an cold case. Her arc begins on the third episode which may explain why she is not in the following trailer. It is definitely okay though because there is just so much going on that showcasing every component of the upcoming episodes might prove difficult.
Dexter returns for its seventh season on Sunday, September 30.
