Less than two weeks ago, it was announced that Martin Sheen would be joining the cast of his son’s FX comedy Anger Management. His role would be none other than that of Charlie’s dad which brings us to what we are seeing today. Here is the teaser promo for next week’s episode suitably titled Charlie’s Dad Visits in which the West Wing actor debuts on the multi-camera sitcom. This will be the first of many stints Martin has on Anger Management as he is contracted to that 90-episode pickup that FX is said to be on the hook for assuming ratings goals are met.
It was recently revealed that not only will these goals be met, but Lionsgate is preparing to offer as many as 40 episodes a year for the series. Talk about overkill. These installments will be given to the cable channel to premiere at their discretion meaning the network will likely up their season size substantially to help fill some mid-day time with an accelerated run to syndication capacity. Furthermore, the studio is said to be already preparing to sell Anger Management to local and international broadcasters.
