Just last week it was revealed that Heather Graham would be reprising her role in the third Hangover movie after sitting out for round two, now we are hearing that things have moved on to cast new celebrity cameos that are meant to impress. The first addition is that of John Goodman who is having somewhat of a career resurgence as of late. The Argo star is currently in talks to play a bad guy not so much unlike Paul Giamatti’s character in The Hangover Part II.
According to Variety, Director Todd Phillips was said to be aiming high with the role in that he attempted to recruit Robert Downey, Jr. and Sean Penn. This is a bit encouraging because either actor making a cameo would be pretty awesome. Robert Downey, Jr. most notably worked with Zach Galifianakis in the past on the road trip comedy Due Date, so there is always potential that he could fit the pic into his schedule just to reunite with an old co-star.
Some of you might recall that Liam Neeson was originally set to play the tattoo artist in the most recent Hangover film, but his character was later recast when reshoots conflicted with the actor’s obligations on the set of The Grey. Perhaps Neeson will take another run at putting his stamp on the wolf pack. All that is just purely speculation though.
Stars of the film include Heather Graham, Ken Jeong, Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis. The Hangover III releases Memorial Day Weekend 2013.
