Fresh off her two season-long stint on the Starz series Spartacus, Lucy Lawless is preparing to showcase her comedic chops as it would appear she is set to guest star on Parks & Recreation. The actress who is best known for her role years ago as the title character in Xena: Warrior Princess will be playing a single mom who turns to the Parks Department for help with a local problem at which point Nick Offerman’s Ron Swanson shows up to save the day.
Essentially, Lawless will be cast as Swanson’s love interest with a two-episode arc. This is definitely good news to hear because whenever Ron Swanson gets involved with women, it is about the funniest stuff you will see on broadcast television. The only thing better would be if her character is named Tammy, but it is actually Diane.
The news was first broken by the actress herself who took to Twitter with the information: ”I am so thrilled to work with the #ParksandRecreation crew. I am always amazed by the Acting and writing. It’s kooky, ironic and elegant.” Various trade publications confirmed this announcement and discovered Lawless’ first episode will air on October 4.
