There is a brand new trailer out for The Master from There Will Be Blood director Paul Thomas Anderson. This is a film often described as ‘the Scientology movie,’ but it may prove more than that as it could operate as an editorial slant against all sorts of organizations. On top of that, the feature is absolutely incredible according to those who received early screenings.
As you can tell, this is a very ‘throw back’ kind of classic ‘soft’ movie making. It might be every bit as good as Anderson’s previous film with Daniel Day-Lewis in which case Joaquin Phoenix and Co. can expect some Oscar nominations in their future provided Hollywood is not offended by the source material.
Stars of the movie include Amy Adams, Joaquin Phoenix, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. The Master has been bumped up since the last time I mentioned it to September 14th with an expansion coming the week after. Presumably this movie has enough award buzz that it will eventually make it to most cinemas so do not worry about the limited roll-out.
