The Internship just gained a whole lot more credibility as a legit Wedding Crashers reunion. It is being said that Will Ferrell (who had a cameo in the 2005 R-rated comedy) has been tapped for a like-sized gig in the Vince Vaughn-Owen Wilson-starrer due out next year.
Real Steel director Shawn Levy is helming the feature that centers on two unemployed salesmen who look to reinvent themselves in a changing world by taking internships at a major tech company. Ferrell’s character looks to be some sort of former co-worker as he will be playing a sexist home electronic salesman. Maybe he will be the stars’ mentor again, but details on their relationship remain under wraps.
The next time we will be able to see Ferrell up on the big screen is next week’s release of Jay Roach’s The Campaign which has the actor starring alongside Zach Galifianakis as two rival politicians competing for the same seat in congress. Following that, the actor has a date with the Sean Anders-directed Three Mississippi and the Anchorman sequel as well as the far more serious Flamingo Thief.
