Good news for Alec Baldwin fans. The actor has just signed on to star alongside Patrick Wilson (Insidious, Young Adult) in a noir mystery thriller titled Caught Stealing. Yes, this may be another ‘baseball movie,’ but not so much what many would expect. The plot centers on Wilson’s character, an alcoholic former baseball prospect (there you go,) who gets caught up in a ‘bloody’ treasure hunt through New York City.
Baldwin will play a sadistic cop who wants a key that Wilson’s Hank Thompson stumbles across, cause the citizen to jump into hunt. The story originates from a Charlie Huston novel that was adapted by David Hayer (Watchmen.) There is no director just yet for the project, but the search is said to be on-going.
This project joins a relatively tame slate of future projects for Baldwin. The actor is set to appear in Marco Bellone and Giovanni Consonni’s comedy AmeriQue and is currently filming an untitled Woody Allen project alongside Cate Blanchett and Peter Sarsgaard. He continues to work on NBC’s 30 Rock which drawing to a close after seven seasons on the air.
