At long last, we have a brand new trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey to fawn over. The movie is to be the first installment of a prequel trilogy spearhead by director Peter Jackson that will release over the next three years and it also happens to be the first blockbuster film shot at 48 frames per second, so it is kind of a big deal. That said, enjoy your second look at the juggernaut movie that many consider to be a potential 10-figure effort at the box office.
The Hobbit’s stars include include Luke Evans, Elijah Wood, Martin Freeman, Cate Blanchett, Evangeline Lilly, Ian Holm, Orlando Bloom, Hugo Weaving, Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Christopher Lee, and Billy Connolly. An Unexpected Journey releases into theaters nationwide on December 14, 2012. Its follow-ups under the subtitles The Desolation of Smaug and There and Back Again will release on December 13, 2013 and July 18, 2014 respectively.
