There is some late breaking news tonight that should excite fans of the cult-favorite Fox drama Fringe. Series showrunner J.H. Wyman and executive producer J.J. Abrams are partnering again for yet another show and it looks like it pays to be loyal to Abrams’ Bad Robot production company because Fox has landed this one in what has been described as a competitive situation
The project is being called a near-future buddy cop show with lots of action. More specifically, it is set in a world where LAPD officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids. While this may sound a tad Battlestar Galactica-esque, this does not necessarily ensure flawless interpretations of humanity which is something we will see anyways in Howard Gordon’s upcoming robot revolution series.
Fringe is set to run a 13-episode fifth and final season this fall starting Friday, September 28.
