After directing the pilot episode for NBC’s Revolution, many expected Jon Favreau to crawl back to theatrical features full time, but that is not the case. Despite on-going preparation on his upcoming Jersey Boys movie, the Iron Man helmer is finding time to executive produce a single-camera comedy from The Office producers Warren Lieberstein and Halsted Sullivan.
The sitcom does not look like it would/could/wants to star Favreau, but it definitely seems like such a pairing could work out as this untitled project centers on a recently single father re-entering the dating world after moving into a singles building.
Revolution is already online to digitally view ahead of its broadcast premiere on Monday, September 17. Jersey Boys begins shooting in January. While Favreau does not appear in either of those projects, he does recur in the upcoming third Iron Man movie as Tony Stark body guard and driver Happy Hogan. He also has roles in the Seth Gordon comedy Identity Theft and Martin Scorsese’s currently-filming The Wolf of Wall Street. All three are slated to release in theaters next year.
