In today’s best ‘not so big, but amusing’ story we are hearing that Breaking Bad’s Mike Ehrmentraut actor Jonathan Banks has been tapped for a guest spot on Parks & Recreation. Interestingly enough, the actor is on board to play none other than Adam Scott’s father which means if things go well the former dramatic actor could end up recurring on one of television’s best comedies.
According to HitFix, Parks co-creator Mike Schur spilled the beans about an episode down the road. Apparently, he came up with the idea to use the Breaking Bad character as a starting point for this guy when someone went further and said they should just hire Banks for the job. The writers’ room is said to be big fans of the actor, so we should expect something beyond just a subtle cameo.
The episode will be the sixth of the year, but details beyond that are scarce at this time. This definitely will be a show to watch for fans of both programs and it might even outshine the already-announced guests that include Lucy Lawless, John McCain, Barbara Boxer, and Olympia Snowe.
Parks & Recreation returns to air on Thursday, September 20 on NBC.
