Saturday Night Live will open its 38th season this weekend as Ted director Seth MacFarlane is set to host. Behind-the-scenes talent does not typically get this gig, so it is a fairly big deal and should be very interesting as to how the show will use him. That said, he can certainly play a lot of excellent characters with his ability to make up voices but whether or not he plays a celebrity will hinge on his ability to translate that to impressions.
The promos just hit the web tonight, and they are certainly some of the best I have ever seen. They include references to Ted and how Seth’s cartoon comedies have a tendency to cut away to flashback moments. Good times.
