Christina Applegate, Bruno Mars to Host ‘SNL’ in Post-Daniel Craig Shows

Christina Applegate has not hosted Saturday Night Live since her Married with Children days in 1993, but producer Lorne Michaels still remembers her (especially since she stars in his NBC show Up All Night) and that is good enough to get her hosting again on October 13th.  We are not quite sure what to expect, but the musical guest for the evening will be Passion Pit.  This will be the first episode of the year hosted by a female.

Also in today’s announcement is that singer-songwriter Bruno Mars will be hosting and performing on the week after.  Keep reading for more details.

New York, NY – October 1, 2012 – SNL returns with three back to back shows, starting October 6 with host Daniel Craig and musical guest Muse.

Christina Applegate returns as host on October 13. Applegate currently stars in NBC’s comedy “Up All Night” alongside Maya Rudolph and Will Arnett.

Passion Pit will make their musical guest debut. The critically acclaimed group released their sophomore album, “Gossamer,” to rave reviews with the album debuting at number four and their singles topping the Billboard Alternative charts.

On October 20, multi-platinum singer/songwriter/producer Bruno Mars will pull double duty as host and musical guest. The Grammy Award-winning singer will release his second album, “Unorthodox Jukebox,” on December 11 and the first single “Locked Out Of Heaven” on October 1.

“Saturday Night Live” is produced in association with Broadway Video. The creator and executive producer is Lorne Michaels.
