Another trailer hit the web for the Guillermo Del Toro-produced horror pic Mama. The movie stars Jessica Chastain attempting to parent her two orphaned nieces who apparently lived in the woods for several years. As predicted, they were not necessarily raising themselves–cue creepy sounds and stuff. Hit the jump for the trailer.
This movie will be the direct follow-up for Chastain’s role in the Kathryn Bigelow Bin Laden pic Zero Dark Thirty which is widely seen as a big box office draw destined to overperform in December. It could ultimately bring more eyes to the actress when Mama lands in theaters, but we should keep in mind that horror films seldom need star power to draw crowds.
Mama releases into theaters on January 18, 2013.
