Tom Hanks Drops F- Bomb on ‘Good Morning America,’ World Subsequently Crumbles

National treasure Tom Hanks was on Good Morning America this morning to promote his new film Cloud Atlas.  Unfortunately for him, that is not exactly what is going to get the attention as the beloved actor did the unthinkable:  he dropped the F- bomb on live television.  Hanks was doing a character during the gaff that has the media world relatively stunned not because of what he did, but because of who he is.  Hit the jump for the footage.

For those of you wondering about the mustache, he is currently filming Saving Mr. Banks in which he plays Walt Disney.  In other words, ABC and Disney are presumably both thrilled about this, but in all sincerity the relatively instantaneous apology from Hanks was smooth enough that he might have even become more likable.  Is that possible?

Cloud Atlas opens in theaters next weekend.
