There is a new serialized television show that might be worth passing along. The action-drama entitled Hunted is pretty much what you expect from a premium network just learning how to produce original programming, but it is also ahead of the curve from what we have seen from Starz and Cinemax thus far as it managed decent reviews coupled with wide ranging appeal–something previously mutually exclusive to both networks’ content.
Starring Melissa George as covert operative Sam Hunter for a private intelligence firm called Byzantium, the show has the main character rejoining her unit a year after someone she works with tried to have her killed. The series focuses on her attempt to exact revenge on whoever set her up as well as her internal struggle in dealing with the ethics of her profession.
A Bourne, Taken vibe is definitely felt with Hunted although it is clear the budget is much lower. Cinemax partnered with X-Files producer Frank Spotnitz and the BBC to produce this series, thus why everyone has British accents.
