Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert made some rare appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night as part of the program’s Brooklyn-set shows. The two did not disappoint, but the casual attitude lacked a little bit of direction. The biggest thing here is fans got to see Colbert nerd out on Lord of the Rings and talk about his set visit on The Hobbit which made headlines a little while back. He still did not reveal whether his cameo was for real, but that typically means it is, so for now let’s expect to see him in the new trilogy. Fair warning: from what is being said on the topic, if he does appear in The Hobbit, it will not be in The Unexpected Journey which releases in December.
Aside from that, Kimmel did ask the Comedy Central duo about how so many young people rely on them for political direction. The two almost seemed surprised, but they eventually answered by giving the old ‘we are just one of many options.’
