New ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ Trailer: Same Footage, Different Cut

Alas, the first new trailer since G.I. Joe: Retaliation’s delay has arrived.  The quasi-reboot starring Dwayne Johnson from director John M. Chu has been under the hood for several months now for two things:  a 3D special effects boost and a huge injection of more Channing Tatum.  While the following is likely to be found unimpressive, it is quite noticeable that a scene with Tatum (which we already saw) will be used more in promotion.

Other scenes also remain very similar to what audiences have been shown already in previous trailers.  Much of the film’s marketing campaign was already rolled out before the delay a mere month from release, so that is to be expected.  The only question that really remains is how much aside from ‘more Channing Tatum’ was changed because the last we heard test runs with audiences went horribly.

Expect G.I. Joe: Retaliation to finally reach theaters on March 29, 2013.
