Seth MacFarlane to Sing on ‘The Simpsons’ Next Season

Just after news broke that Seth MacFarlane already had a plot for the Family Guy movie, word also made it online that the animator has signed on for a voice acting gig on The Simpsons. EW landed the exclusive story where they shed some light on things, informing us that the episode will have him play a character named Ben whom Marge meets on an Ashley Madison-like dating website.

Do not freak out just yet as Marge is still content with Homer after all these years.  Much to our amusement, it was a complete mistake that she will not be in on as she actually confused the site for something else.  The two will have a lot of lines together with one specific mention being their shared love of Downton Abbey which goes under the title Upton Rectory in the world of The Simpsons.

If that was not enough, you get to hear Seth MacFarlane sing some Sinatra on the episode via the song “The Way You Look Tonight.”  This will be his second such performance for a Matt Groening-created cartoon as he also provided the opening credits music for Futurama’s Into the Wild Green Yonder direct-to-DVD offering.  In addition to supplying Fox Sundays and Adult Swim with programming, the producer is also a noted singer so this should come as no surprise.  His first album released last year under the title Music Is Better Than Words.

The Seth MacFarlane-voiced episode of The Simpsons will air as the show’s 25th season premiere next fall.
