It looks like we will not have to wait until The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey after all. Cast member Simon Pegg who plays Scotty in the upcoming Star Trek Into the Darkness has just revealed via Twitter that the trailer is dropping on Thursday, not December 14. We have no reason to believe that he is embellishing to wind us up, as that does not appear to be his style so take this for what it is.
This would make plenty sense considering just yesterday we received a teaser poster for the film featuring who is probably Benedict Cumberbatch’s mysterious villain. Previous mentions have focused on his being a ‘one man weapon of mass destruction’ with some hints that he may be a former member of Star Fleet. We will definitely be looking at identifying his character further when the first major promo drops for this title which aims to be one of the big, big movies of summer 2013.
