Jon Favreau to Direct One of the Final Episodes of ‘The Office’

jon favreauJon Favreau can scratch an episode of The Office off his bucket list.  The man responsible for Iron Man (and not much else) will be directing one of the final five installments of the long-running NBC comedy.  You can chalk this up to the man’s availability after a big screen adaptation of Jersey Boys was tossed, but do take note that the presence will be behind-the-camera only, so to answer your questions, ‘no, Happy Hogan will not make his way to Dunder Mifflin before reappearing in the third Iron Man film.’

If this story seems oddly familiar, that is because earlier this year the internet was abuzz about another stop by  The Office as Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston took over for an episode.  Normally, other actors do not stop by television shows to direct a colleague’s show, so that was a fairly big deal when it happened.  The episode was called Work Bus, and it aired October 18, 2012.

The Office still airs on Thursday nights at 9 pm/ET for those of you wondering.  Ratings are far below the series average, but it remains NBC’s primetime anchor for the night.
