Emmy-winner Damian Lewis found time in his busy schedule to do a British crime thriller, and the trailer just hit iTunes earlier today. This particular movie entitled The Sweeney is based on a UK television series from the 70′s that followed a darker side of the police department which used crime to combat crime. Lewis only supports this picture as the ‘no nonsense’ boss, taking a backseat to Ray Winstone and Ben Drew. Winstone’s the big guy who should look familiar to many of you who remember The Departed as he played Costello’s right hand man, Mr. French.
Stars of the film include Ray Winstone, Ben Drew, Damian Lewis, Hayley Atwell, and Allen Leech. The Sweeney hits theaters on March 1.
