Major news tonight out of Deadline. The news blog broke the story as to who will be playing the female lead in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and it is a shocker. Marvel Studios gave the role to Emily VanCamp who is the star on ABC’s hit drama Revenge. As usual, the details are scarce, but that should prove temporary as production needs to get going in order to meet an April 4 release.
VanCamp joins a cast that already includes Chris Evans and Anthony Mack who will be playing The Falcon. Toby Jones and Sebastian Stan are expected to reprise as Arnim Zola and Bucky Barnes, and the SHIELD team might just show up as well. The Russo brothers will be directing.
