Jessica Alba seems to have an unusually full schedule as of late, but she apparently is not done adding to it as today we hear of a package deal with the Fantastic Four star headlining. Myriad Pictures is in final negotiations with the actress to front Weightless from Monster’s Ball scribe Milo Addica who will also direct.
This is an original idea, set in the near-future that follows a female astronaut involved in a complex affair. The catch? The love interest happens to be the brother of a motorcycle accident fatality which Alba’s character caused. Naturally, she never confessed because doing so would mean being grounded, so there is that which will likely be the cornerstone to the feature.
Alba skipped 2012 after having a soft 2011, but this year she looks to have her ducks in a row. Projects set for release before the New Year are A.C.O.D., Escape From Planet Earth (animation,) Machete Kills, and Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. It is probably that last one which will grab all the headlines as she will be reprising her role as Nancy Callahan from the 2005 classic Sin City. Release is set for October 4.
