It appears there is a bit of behind-the-scenes drama on the Justice League movie that Warner Bros. is preparing to film. Reports are surfacing that the studio is probably going to dump the script from Gangster Squad writer Will Beall. While they are still waiting on Man of Steel to succeed, a site called Badass Digest has multiple sources saying that they are currently looking for new writers. Apparently the script is being ID’d as the reason those top-tier directors they have been courting (like Ben Affleck) have kept their distance. This runs counter to what we were hearing initially in that those in charge thought they had something worth putting up on the big screen.
Let’s just sit and breathe on that for a second because some people are going as far as to suggest the project will be scrapped entirely. That will not happen. This is too juicy a property for it to be ‘let go’ as the studio could always reboot should the first go around fail miserably. The more likely scenario would be that Warner Bros. seeks out a little more guidance and structure to replicate what Marvel Studios has accomplished at Disney. In other words, fans of DC Comics probably should not bet on a 2015 release, but they could still reasonably assume that a release a little ways down the road is incredibly likely.
