A&E sure as heck does not want you to forget that their latest foray into original programming is premiering next week. The basic cable network saw fit to unleash the first six minutes of footage for Bates Motel well ahead of its air date in order to drum up some buzz much to our delight. For those not in the know, this is a prequel to Psycho (yes, the classic Hitchcock horror film) that centers on Norman and Norma Bates as the latter (played by Vera Farmiga) raises her child. Spoiler alert: it does not go so well as the boy turns into a raging serial killer.
Bates Motel premieres Monday, March 18 on A&E.
