Joss Whedon Calls ‘Planet Hulk-Avengers’ Rumors ‘Nonsense’ [Updated with Ruffalo Response]

joss whedon the avengersWell, it looks like Latino-Review is about to lose a whole lot of credibility as the folks over there have been landing big exclusive after big exclusive, and at least one of them appears to be dead wrong.  The website for breaking word of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie before Marvel’s big Comic-Con reveal ran a big exclusive last month saying that the Illuminati and Planet Hulk would loom large in The Avengers going forward.  It turns out that was a load of BS, not unlike the blog’s story on Black Panther last summer.

Joss Whedon, aka captain of the ship, seemed unenthused to say the least when IGN asked him about the rumor point blank during press for his Shakespearian comedy Much Ado About Nothing.  His response was as follows: “Um, well, I’m really not supposed to comment, but no, that’s nonsense.”  The footage after the jump.

Update 3/7: Mark Ruffalo also calls these Planet Hulk rumors hogwash as any standalone feature would be news to him.
