‘Sinister’ Sequel Ramps Up Production with Scott Derrikson Producing

ethan hawke sinisterIt looks like the Sinister sequel we knew that was coming is finally getting off the ground.  Reports are surfacing that the $3 million pic will at long last be receiving a follow-up with the help of series creators Scott Derrickson and C. Robert Cargill via Blumhouse.  Naturally, none of this should come as a shock to anybody as the original managed to scour up $87 million last fall.  Ethan Hawke led the horror film which might have had something to do with the film’s success as he played a true crime novelist who uncovers a box of creepy home movies.

A director has not yet been chosen to replace Derrikson who looks done with behind-the-camera duty and details are scarce at this time.  Hopefully, fans of the horror genre will not be too disappointed, but ultimately the feeling is that this might just be ‘another’ cash cow IP for a studio to milk.  More on this one as further details come to light.
