Good news for fans of A&E’s new horror-drama Bates Motel. The Psycho-inspired series showed remarkable retention in its second airing with even a slight 100,000 viewer bump in the 18-49 category, rising to 1.7 million. Total viewership is down twice that amount though to 2.8 million (from 3.0 million) which is still really quite impressive for a rookie scripted program on basic cable. The demo mark beats that of FX shows The Americans and Justified as well as AMC series’ The Killing and Mad Men as well as premium network rivals. We will keep you posted on any major changes, but for now rest assured that Bates Motel is going nowhere.
Bates Motel airs Monday nights on A&E.
